Business Central : Analyze list page and Query data by using Data Analysis Mode
In Business Central 2023 release wave 2 we have the new feature for analyzing data on list pages and queries. This feature helps to analyze data very quickly from the page similar to excel. Using different option and filters we can add multiple tabs to represent the data. Like “My Items”, “My Vendor”, “Top Sold Items”.
Note:
- If your system is in lower version from BC version 23 you need to enable the Feature from Feature Management Page. Feature Update: Analysis mode, quick analyze data directly in Business central.
- In BC version 23 user need to have permission set DATA ANALYSIS execute permission assigned.
Let’s see how it works:
- Open the List page Item Ledger entries by Alt + Q.
- On the Top Left of the page, turn on Analyze as shown below. The system opens a new page for data analysis with different ways data can be analyzed. If you toggle off the Analyze, system will bring you back to standard list page.
- On the Top Right of the Analyze page you can select the columns and Analysis filter the data according to your need. You can re-arrange the columns by drag and drop OR remove the columns on layout from the right side pane of the page.
- The Bottom Right of the Page gives the flexibility to select the numeric field to sum the values which is displayed on the last row of the page.
- To sort the column, select the column header, In order to sort the multiple column (select column header by hold SHIFT key).
- Click on below marked menu icon, to see several other actions you can perform on the column. Example you can select the column and freeze them, so they don’t move when you scroll.
- You can define filters directly without going to the Analysis Filters pane.
- For the numeric column you can get statistics details by selecting the column, as shown below.
- You can export the data in excel/csv format. Right click on the data area or selection of cells to export the data.
